Quietus – Seattle 2024

Join us as we honor the Queer Divinity known as the Elder. The evening will be a potluck feast and ceremony rolled into one. Bring a favorite holiday dish to pass in celebration of our spirits and our community. Let’s light up the darkest part of the year together.

Throughout the night there will be time to share your own reasons for joy, to share stories or myth or song that is personally meaningful, and to make offerings/petitions to our spirits and to the Elder.

Come, and allow us to introduce you to our queer deities, spirits, and spiritual landscape. Find community in a space devoted to queer power and spiritual exploration.

Quietus is a free neopagan ritual open to queer adults of all genders. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks, and we ask that anyone who feels sick or who thinks they might be sick stay at home.

RITUAL BASICS
Entry will begin around 5pm, and no one will be admitted after the ritual starts. Ritual will begin at 5:30pm and last about 90 minutes. We will briefly smoke cleanse attendees before entering temple space, and there will be small candles and incense lit on our altar. If it does not conflict with accessibility needs, we will have low lighting during the event.

Seating will be provided, and attendees are invited to sit, walk, dance, or otherwise engage as you feel comfortable.

Attendees must wear clothing at the event (no sky-clad, please!) and we ask that substances remain outside the temple space.

THE SPACE
ShadowDance will occur in the University Friends Meetinghouse in the University District. The entrance is a gate on the 9th Ave NE side, and someone will be watching the gate to let folks in.
If you are driving, you can find parking in a small lot outside the Meetinghouse or on 9th Ave NE. If you are biking, you can lock your bike at a rack outside the space.

If you are taking public transit, you can reach the Meetinghouse from the University Bridge & NE 40th St stop (49 or 70 bus) or the NE 42nd St & 8th Ave NE stop (31 or 32 bus).
